- Tenor Contravielle
The Treble Contravielle and Tenor Contravielle are the string-like instruments of the ensemble. The left hand activates buttons that serve as rows of "frets" on four "strings", while the right hand touches four actual strings that are serving as tactile sensors. The Tenor Contravielle is the larger of the two instruments, so the resonator has more bass response. The tone of the resonator is close to that of a large acoustic guitar.
The Tenor Contravielle appears in the pieces Concerning the Nature of Things and Undeciphered Writing. It is described in my dissertation, "Exploration of an Adaptive Just Intonation System".
